Principle of Operation

Unique Metal Detectors uses a balanced three coil arrangement wound around the aperture opening to sense metal moving through it. The center (Oscillator) Coil emits an electro magnetic field through out the space within the Metal Detector housing. Two receiver coils (one placed equidistant on either side of the oscillators coil) are connected in series so that the energy coupled from the oscillator coil of its pair is essentially zero. Metal Passing through this set of coils, creates an imbalance which the internal circuitry senses as a signal of finite amplitude and definite phase angle with respect to a reference signal supplied by the oscillator.
